ISO 14001 for our Volakas Quarry

Our Volakas Quarry is the first quarry in Greece to directly introduce solar panels and the second to obtain an ISO 14001 Environmental Certification.

Recent Environmental Actions by NORDIA

Implementation of anti-corrosion & flood control works over an area of 2,000,000 m²: The unprecedented catastrophic wildfires that devasted Greece in August 2021 have deserted millions of acres in several parts of the country. Feeling the urge to protect nature and help it recover, NORDIA has taken over the flood defense and soil anticorrosion works in Varybombi - Tatoi. The works lasted for a period of three months and the quality of the work received kudos by the Greek State representatives.

Reforestation works over an area of 200.000 m²: Dedicated to restoring the natural beauty of Mount Penteli, we have organized four impactful reforestation days, planting over 2,000 trees with the invaluable support of volunteers from all walks of life. Together, we are breathing new life into the once-scorched land, nurturing a renewed hope for a greener tomorrow.

But our commitment doesn’t end with planting. We continue to care for the young trees, ensuring proper irrigation and monitoring their growth to secure the success of this vital effort. Looking ahead, we have already planned additional reforestation initiatives for the coming years, reinforcing our unwavering dedication to a sustainable future.
